Agentic AI
AI systems that plan and execute multi-step tasks with some autonomy, instead of returning one output from one instruction.
Agentic AI describes a system that breaks a task into a sequence of steps, each handled by a distinct role or process, rather than taking one instruction and returning one output in a single pass. Instead of a single model trying to hold every requirement in mind while also writing, the work is split so that different steps own different parts of the job, the way a real team would divide it.
In a general-purpose setting, that autonomy is mostly a convenience. In a regulated industry it's a liability unless specific checkpoints are built into the handoffs between steps. A content pipeline that plans and executes several steps on its own needs a defined point where claims get checked against an approved source, and another where the rendered result gets checked again, not just an assumption that the model got it right somewhere in the middle. SwishX's five digital co-workers are built around exactly that structure.
