Synthetic Persona

An AI-constructed character used to represent a real-world audience segment for training or testing, not a real individual.

A synthetic persona is an AI-constructed character built to represent a real-world audience segment, for example a simulated physician with a defined specialty, patient population, and set of typical objections, rather than any specific real person. It's built from patterns and research about that segment, not from one individual's actual data, which is what makes it usable for repeated training or testing without raising the privacy questions that modeling a real person would.

The main use is rehearsal. A rep training program or a message test needs a consistent, repeatable stand-in for "a skeptical cardiologist" or "a payer reviewer focused on cost," and a synthetic persona provides that without needing a real HCP's time or data for every single repetition. It's best understood as a specific kind of digital twin, one built to represent a category of person rather than simulate an individual.
