Launch Readiness

The state of a field force being trained, certified, and equipped ahead of a product launch date that can't move.

Launch Readiness is the state of a field force being trained, certified, and equipped with compliant materials before a product's launch date, the day reps are cleared to begin detailing. Unlike most commercial deadlines, a launch date is largely set by factors outside the field organization's control, regulatory approval timing, a fixed go-to-market commitment, so it generally can't move to accommodate a team that isn't ready.

That makes readiness a binary gate rather than a gradual ramp. On launch day, a rep either knows the approved clinical story and has passed Rep Certification, or they don't and shouldn't be in front of an HCP yet. Heads of sales enablement tend to treat the weeks before launch as the highest-stakes training window in a product's life, because gaps that go uncaught here show up immediately in the first calls, not months later.
