Rep Certification
The formal process of verifying a sales rep is ready to detail a product to HCPs.
Rep Certification is the formal process of verifying that a sales rep is ready to detail a product to HCPs, typically completed just ahead of Launch Readiness or whenever a rep moves onto a new product. Traditionally this has meant a knowledge test: can the rep correctly state the approved indication, the key efficacy data, and the safety information without drifting off-label.
A knowledge test is a reasonable proxy for what a rep knows, but it doesn't verify what happens when an HCP pushes back mid-call, asks an off-label question, or raises a competitor's data. That gap is why more sales enablement teams now pair the written test with some form of simulated practice conversation before certifying a rep as call-ready, treating certification as proof of performance under pressure, not just proof of recall.
