Digital Twin (Patient or HCP Simulation)

An AI-generated simulation of a person or persona, used for training or modeling rather than real patient or HCP interaction.

A digital twin, in this context, is an AI-generated simulation of a person, standing in for a real patient or healthcare professional so that training, modeling, or message rehearsal can happen without involving an actual individual. It behaves consistently enough to be useful (it can hold a specialty, a likely set of objections, a communication style) without being an actual patient record or a real HCP's data.

The practical value in pharma commercial and medical settings is mostly in rep training and message testing. A sales rep can run a detail call against a simulated HCP persona and get repeated, varied practice without needing a real physician's time, and a brand can see how a message lands against a range of simulated reactions before it's ever used with a real audience. This is a different thing from predictive modeling built on real patient data, which raises its own, separate privacy questions.
